France’s Arrest of Telegram’s Pavel Durov Is Costing Them Billions

Calls to free Pavel Durov, the founder of the social media site Telegram who was just arrested in France, are absolutely exploding. The arrest is costing the French nation billions.

– There is widespread outcry against France’s arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov, with prominent figures like Robert Kennedy Jr. and Elon Musk demanding his release.

– Reports suggest the arrest was improvised, with no prior warrant before Durov’s plane landed for refueling in Paris.

– The arrest is viewed as a move by French President Emmanuel Macron to curb anti-French sentiments and retaliate against Durov for Telegram’s role in the region’s anti-French coups.

The outcry against France’s utterly unlawful arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov is reaching a fevered pitch. Figures like Robert Kennedy Jr. and Elon Musk are excoriating French officials and calling for his immediate release! #FreePavel and #BoycottFrance have been trending on X for a while.

Pavel Durov was arrested at Paris’s Le Bourget airport as he exited his private jet, where the plane had landed for refueling. The arrest warrant appears to have been largely improvised. Reports are that there was no indication of an arrest warrant when Pavel’s private plane took off earlier in the day, so French officials apparently got word that they were landing in Paris to refuel and they fabricated an arrest warrant.

They are charging Pavel, who has French citizenship, as an accomplice for drug trafficking and child exploitation because supposedly some are using his channel for that and he refused to comply with French authorities in cracking down on that. This has enraged nations such as the UAE. Pavel has taken up residence in Dubai, and it’s being reported that the UAE has canceled a deal with France to buy 80 fighter jets which is estimated to be costing France upwards of $17 billion in revenue.

This isn’t the first time Pavel has run into Deep State actors, either in Europe or in America. Here’s what he recently told Tucker Carlson in an interview:

Our self-anointed protectors of democracy appear to be upset that Pavel didn’t play the game that they demanded he play. Cybersecurity expert Mike Benz described what he thinks is ultimately behind this arrest:

According to Benz, NATO is trying to get control of an international social media platform that has been key to the state department launching color revolutions all over the world over the last several years. This would give them access to the encrypted user information of most Russian citizens who use Telegram. Pavel is the founder of two of Russia’s most popular social media sites, what’s known as VK which is basically a Russian version of Facebook, and Telegram.

VK is highly coveted by NATO officials for Russian intelligence gathering from the wealth of encrypted user information. The reasons for Pavel’s arrest are control over a highly influential social media platform to control the narrative and intelligence gathering. We now know that Facebook staff have been spying on the private messages and data of American users and in turn reporting them to the FBI if they expressed what Facebook called anti-government or anti-authority sentiments.

The Deep State is deeply invested in controlling and monitoring social media. An article posted by Pepe Escobar discusses that Telegram has been particularly influential in stoking anti-French sentiment particularly in the Sahel region of Africa. This is the region where nations like Gabon, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso have all staged successful coups to oust their pro-France leaders and expel the last vestiges of French colonialism from their region.

There has been international humiliation for Macron and no matter what threats or blustering rhetoric he’s thrown at the region, they’ve done nothing but laugh at him.

One of the first acts of the new junta in Gabon was to ban French President Emmanuel Macron from entering their nation. This arrest of the owner of the platform has played such an inordinate role in launching these successful anti-French coups. Macron may be trying to stop the momentum of these anti-French sentiments that are clearly winning in the Sahel region. In an even more petty move, he may be just exacting revenge on Pavel.

Regardless, this would explain why France in particular is cracking down on Telegram. Pepe notes that Telegram has been inordinately influential in sharing with a mass international audience the other side of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. While Western powers have blacked out any perspective coming from the other side by calling anyone who critiques Ukraine or says something positive about Putin or Russia as ‘Putin propagandists.’

Telegram is a place people can go to get the untarnished Russian perspective. On Telegram, users get both the unfiltered Ukrainian perspective on the war and you get the unfiltered Russian perspective. But NATO is hell bent on pushing pro-Ukrainian propaganda which corresponds to hundreds of billions of tax-payer dollars being sent around.

Europe doesn’t have its own social media platforms; it’s totally and completely reliant on platforms like Elon Musk’s X and Pavel Durov’s Telegram. Rather than create their own platforms, the globalist elites are just trying to take over the platforms of others. They want to do that in order to control the narrative of funneling hundreds of billions of dollars into the military industrial complex. This is ultimately all about money and power, which it normally is. Ironically, with the UAE backing out of the arms deal and the subsequent loss of billions of dollars, along with the boycott France social media campaign, it looks like France and Macron are coming out of this fiasco all the poorer!
