RETRIBUTION: BREXIT leader Nigel Farage enters UK General Election

Former BREXIT leader Nigel Farage is once taking center stage in British politics. Today, he announced that he will contest a seat in Clacton, a town off Britain’s southeastern coast. Once the renowned UK Independence Party leader, Farage has attached himself to a new, rising right-wing British political faction named The Reform Party.

Farage believes he has a significant chance to win this seat given its sympathy towards the Reform party. According to CNN, Farage planned to assist the presidential ambitions of Donald Trump but pivoted after interacting with the citizens of Clacton.

“But I couldn’t help, after each exchange, I simply couldn’t help feeling that somehow, they felt I was letting them down,” he said. “I have decided. I’ve changed my mind. It’s allowed, you know. It’s not always a sign of weakness.” Farage claimed that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak left him little choice since he called a surprise general election. “there is a rejection of the political class going on in this country in a way that has not been seen in modern times,” said Farage.

Farage provides a glimmer of hope for a country grappling with issues that imperil its future. Neither candidate for Prime Minister offers a compelling alternative. A report from The Telegraph indicates low turnout in recent elections is a function of voter apathy, which results from poor candidates from each major party. The post-Brexit consensus has failed to deliver prosperity for the British people.

“Brexit might be done but the new, dreary, stifling, post-Brexit consensus – big state, big tax, big debt, big immigration, big on woke – is irritating millions,” said the article. Perhaps the absence of ideological parity among Britain’s major parties will allow Farage and his Reform party to ascend quickly. Farage seems to think so, stating We are going to be the voice of opposition, and I tell you what, I have done it before, I’ll do it again, I’ll surprise everybody.”
