It is official: Donald Trump did not just defeat a bullet, he defeated a sitting president. What does it all mean?
Joe Scarborough goes full state TV:
"Biden is far beyond cogent. He is better than he has EVER been intellectually, analytically. He is the best Biden ever."

– Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the presidential race on National Ice Cream Day marks a significant moment in American politics, highlighting the fragile nature of governmental legitimacy.
– Joe Biden officially dropped out of the presidential race after weeks of denial and mounting pressure.
– The Democrat leadership’s manipulation of the nomination process has further alienated their base, creating a precarious situation for the party.
The Biden nightmare has come to an end! The irony of ironies is that he dropped out on National Ice Cream Day! Biden has officially dropped out after weeks of denials and pushing back against the growing calls for him to bow out.
Biden’s implosion and the catastrophic collapse of his presidency is a reminder of just how fragile governments are. Scholars have long recognized that governments can exist only insofar as they are legitimized in the eyes of the vast majority of the population. In order for governments or administrations to be successful, they have to elicit a sufficient amount of trust and confidence among their citizenry.
As we saw as of nearly a month ago with the train wreck debate, the only thing that ultimately got beat was any semblance of trust and confidence in Biden. With that delegitimation and with the total loss of trust and confidence, his presidency imploded within days. The irony in all of this is that the videos of Biden that just weeks ago we were told were deep fakes showed the cognitive condition that caused Biden to drop out of the race!
This delegitimization is going to plague Biden for the rest of his term, and that’s where this disconnect comes in. The debate disaster marked the official end of Biden’s presidency. Matt Walsh expressed this well, saying, “The Biden campaign’s decision to challenge Trump to a debate before the convention will go down as one of the greatest political blunders in American history.”
That political blundering is going to be following Biden for the rest of his term. He’s staying on as president, claiming he’s going to finish out his term. But if there’s no trust and confidence in him as a candidate, why does he think there’s more trust and confidence in him REMAINING president?
We may begin to see a growing pressure for him to resign. It’s very hard to overcome the appearance of an extraordinary disconnect between Biden’s inability to campaign and his supposed ability to govern. The capacity to campaign has always been seen as a prerequisite to the capacity to govern. It will be increasingly hard for Biden to resign the former without comparably resigning the latter.
The radical divide between the Democrat voter and the Democrat leadership is increasing throughout these unprecedented times. The Democrat leadership has once again screwed the Democrat voter. In 2020, Democrat voters didn’t want Biden, they wanted Bernie. All the polls showed Bernie ahead of the pack and way ahead of Biden. Biden came in an embarrassing fourth place in the Iowa caucus followed by a humiliating fifth place in New Hampshire.
No previous presidential candidate ever won the nomination let alone the presidency after having come in fourth in Iowa and fifth in New Hampshire. Democrat voters wanted Bernie. They didn’t want Joe and they definitely didn’t want Kamala. She dropped out in humiliation before the first primary. Biden’s nomination was forced on Democrat voters by the Democrat leadership and Democrat donors who thought Bernie would be an electoral disaster.
They pressured the other candidates like Buttigieg and Amy Klobachar to all back out and throw their support behind Biden, which they gleefully did, in order to secure their own political futures of course. This very presidency that in effect began with a coup of Democrat leadership and donors against their own voters is now ending with a coup. The same leaders and donors are now pushing out the very candidate Democrats voted for.
A headline from the AP recently published highlights this concern: “The DNC promises a transparent and orderly process to select a new nominee.” SELECT, not ELECT, a new nominee! They thwarted the will of their own voters yet again. The twitter channel ‘End wokeness’ expressed this: ‘In the end, the Party Elites always win: In 2016, they rigged it for Hillary by using superdelegates against Bernie. In 2020, all the candidates dropped out, endorsed Biden, as soon as the primary momentum was building for Bernie. Now they forced Joe Biden out despite RECEIVING 87% IN THE PRIMARY. This is not how democracy works.’
The Democrat leadership has put itself in a very precarious position. You can only FORCE a candidate on your constituency for so long before that constituency rebels. That is precisely what we may be seeing with Kamala, as many people on the left are not interested in supporting her!
