LA Dodgers’ Drag Dilemma: Religious Protest Against Anti-Christian Drag Performers

The Los Angeles Dodgers recently removed the drag group “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” from their pride celebration lineup after there was pressure from Catholics to remove them. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence describe themselves as devoted to “community service, ministry and outreach to those on the edges, and to promoting human rights, respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment.” They claim to “use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit.”

The Dodgers initially removed this group from their performance lineup because many conservative and religious people were offended and protested this decision. However, there was also backlash over the decision to remove them from the lineup, so the Dodgers reinstated them.

This is an issue we are seeing consistently in the news in the past few months. Corporations partner with woke extremists and promote disturbing ideologies, receive backlash, scramble, and try to correct their damage by conceding to the people they offended, and then just offending everyone. It seems that conservatives and liberals alike are tired of seeing this pattern. Corporations can’t have it both ways and appease the leftists by promoting LGBTQ+ ideas and also keeping their conservative consumers happy. When they retract liberal partnerships, products, and statements, they offend their liberal customers because they are not “true allies” supporting that community.

The many recent examples of this in the news show that a parallel economy is likely to emerge as both conservatives and liberals want to shop at places that wholeheartedly support their values without caving to the other side. The Dodgers have upset many people by even taking this group out of their lineup in the first place, and now they have upset people who do not support these anti-Christianity drag groups.

There are countless calls from Catholics and other Christians to boycott the Dodgers again. As conservatives have seen the success of the Bud Light movement, they are beginning to boycott companies that go woke in their partnerships. This has been seen by the major backlash just this week against Target’s Satanist partnership and this drag group hired by the LA Dodgers which is known for openly mocking Christ, Christianity, and Catholicism. As Christians and conservatives rally together against these companies that support extremist and anti-Christian ideas, we are likely to see companies stop doing this in the near future as Target has already retracted some of their Pride merchandise in fear of the boycott movement and rising parallel economy!
