Trump’s Fiery Response to the Pope's Tweets

In an unexpected digital showdown, former President Trump has drawn the Pope into a Twitter war over resurfaced tweets from Pope Leo XIV’s past. Originally known as Robert Francis Prayvost, this pontiff thought his critical musings on Trump had vanished like a bad joke after a few too many drinks. But alas, in the era of the internet, nothing truly disappears. As Trump labels the Pope “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy,” the Vatican’s claims of neutrality are left looking less than holy.

In a tale of unexpected digital unearthing, former President Trump has found himself in a public showdown with the first American pope in the Catholic Church's history. The Pope, who thought his past tweets had vanished with the rise of white smoke over the Sistine Chapel, is now entwined in a political clash that transcends continents and ideologies.

- Pope Leo XIV, formerly known as Robert Francis Prayvost from Chicago, is at odds with Trump over his past Twitter activity.
- The Pope's deleted tweets, critical of Trump and JD Vance, have resurfaced, sparking a fiery exchange.
- This clash highlights the tension between political and spiritual realms, questioning the Pope's neutrality.

Pope Leo XIV, born Robert Francis Prayvost in Chicago, Illinois, entered the papacy with a now-deleted Twitter account, @drprevost. This account was rife with retweets of articles attacking President Trump's immigration policies and JD Vance's Roman Catholic theology. These weren't private musings but public endorsements, like the retweet claiming "JD Vance is wrong. Jesus doesn't ask us to rank our love for others." This week, Trump stumbled upon these tweets and took to Truth Social, resharing them with a blunt "Not good!!!!". He then criticized the Pope as "weak on crime" and "terrible for foreign policy," suggesting Leo was chosen to counter Trump in America.

As the Pope flew to Algiers, he responded to Trump’s claims, asserting his political neutrality, a stance starkly contradicted by his recent meeting with David Axelrod, Obama's chief political strategist. Just days after this encounter, the Pope's criticisms of Trump over the Iran conflict emerged. Coincidence? Hardly. This meeting with Axelrod, a fellow Chicagoan, casts doubt on the Pope’s apolitical claims, suggesting a deliberate political maneuver to draw Catholics away from Trump and towards the Democratic camp.

The gospel itself is inherently political. Declaring Christ as Lord was once considered treason in the Greco-Roman world, challenging Caesar's authority. The word "Kyrios" meant "Lord," a title reserved for the emperor. Thus, the Pope's retweets criticizing Trump and his immigration policies were not mere theological musings but politically charged actions. Tom Homan, former Border Czar and a devout Catholic, highlighted this hypocrisy. He pointed out that open borders unleash criminal elements, preying on true victims, a reality only leftist politics and this Pope fail to acknowledge.

A glaring irony looms over the Vatican itself, surrounded by an impenetrable wall. The security to enter the Vatican is formidable, a stark contrast to the criticism America faces for its border wall. The Vatican's 39-foot wall is celebrated as heritage, yet America's border barrier is deemed immoral. The principle behind these walls is the same: protection. We lock our doors not out of hate for outsiders but love for those within. Yet, the Pope criticizes JD Vance's invocation of "ordered loves" in defense of borders, a classical Christian doctrine advocating prioritizing family, then community, before outsiders.

JD Vance articulated this principle in an interview with Sean Hannity, emphasizing the need to protect one's family and community first. The notion of loving everyone equally, akin to loving one's spouse or children, is nonsensical. Trump's administration aimed to protect American citizens, just as other nations have the responsibility to protect their own.

The Catholic Church, particularly under this papacy, seems increasingly influenced by liberal modernity. This progressive realism blinds the Vatican to the civilizational challenges of our time. The Vatican refrains from criticizing NGOs profiting from open borders, nor does it denounce the chaos wrought by leftist activists posing as judges. The Vatican's silence on the CCP or Islamic regimes is deafening. Their political stances are steeped in leftist ideology, misreading the current global shift toward civilizationalism.

As we reflect on these pressing issues, it’s crucial to stay informed and engaged. Until Pope Leo XIV can justify the Vatican's sanctified wall while condemning a nation's right to secure its borders, questions will persist. The walls stand firm, as does the resolve of those who defend their sovereignty. And so, the debate continues, as we stand resolute in our principles.
