Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has officially caved. In a massive win for President Trump, New York prosecutors are admitting defeat. We are also seeing huge breaking news on election integrity efforts all across swing states.
– Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has conceded that the sentencing of Trump, scheduled for September 18, should be postponed until after the election.
– The Supreme Court ruled that presidents and former presidents have presumptive immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts.
– This ruling undermined the case against Trump and led Bragg to request a postponement of the sentencing.
It looks like President Trump has finally beaten the weaponized legalism that the Democrats thought would take him out. It’s now being widely reported that Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg has conceded that the New York court should postpone the sentencing of Trump, which is currently scheduled to occur on September 18, until after the election.
In a letter to Judge Juan Merchan, Bragg admitted that in light of the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling, much of his evidence that he introduced in the case has been in effect wiped out. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Trump’s immunity about a month after the vile verdict from that equally vile Manhattan jury. The decision confirmed that presidents and former presidents have presumptive immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts.
As Andy McCarthy of National Review pointed out, Bragg admitted into evidence a number of Trump’s official acts as president as well as subpoenaed the testimony of two Trump White House staffers. In light of the Supreme Court’s ruling, Bragg is admitting that the dismissal of much of the evidence from the trial calls into question the nature of the sentencing. Such sentencing should be reevaluated and pushed back until after the election.
The letter that Bragg sent to Merchan is an admission that the weaponized lawfare has boomeranged against them! This is an admission that the only thing this weaponized legalism has accomplished is a massive backlash of sympathy towards Trump. They are retreating from a deliberate offensive against the democratic process itself because the people have risen up against this. Bragg is telling Merchan that the powers-that-be have determined that the left is getting crushed by the backlash in this lawfare and they need to back off from it!
We are also seeing big developments for election integrity efforts throughout the swing states. In Nevada, the Supreme Court just made a landmark ruling that election officials have the right to withhold certification of the vote as long as the vote is being contested. In 2020 the Democrats rammed through the vote certification. Even though the vote was being contested, election officials, often under duress, were forced to certify the election results under penalty of law. That is now gone in Nevada. As long as the vote is contested, election officials have the right to refrain from certifying that vote until the concerns are addressed and assuaged.
In the key swing state of Pennsylvania, the GOP successfully got a Pennsylvania judge to rule our way on ‘naked ballots.’ A naked ballot is a mail-in ballot that has been completed and put in a return envelope but is missing a secrecy envelope. In Pennsylvania two envelopes are required, one to put the ballot in which is the secrecy envelope, and another to put the secrecy envelope in to send in to the elections office.
The Democrats wanted to make it so that votes returned without the secrecy envelope would still get counted, but Republicans successfully argued and a court has ruled that any ballots that are sent in without the secrecy envelope will not be counted.
The Trump campaign just announced that they have secured over 100,000 poll watchers, poll workers, and legal experts for the election. They are spreading these workers and legal experts across over a dozen states to make sure the election is secured. These huge developments for election integrity efforts are happening all across the swing states!
