Man Not Allowed to Compete In Women’s Olympic Swimming

Lia Thomas, a man who competed in women’s collegiate athletics, was attempting to join the women’s Olympic team.

He has been denied the opportunity to participate in women’s Olympic sports. This is great news as men obviously should not participate in women’s sports. Lia Thomas, whose birth name is Will Thomas, formerly competed in men’s swimming competitions.

When competing in the men’s division, Will Thomas was ranked 554th in the 200 freestyle. After deciding to participate in the women’s competition, Thomas broke several records and placed among the top swimmers, winning several women’s competitions.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that Thomas does not have a standing to question the existing rules. Thomas filed a case in January against World Aquatics, which is swimming’s governing body. Thomas was hoping to be able to participate in women’s sporting events such as the upcoming summer Olympics, but this ruling occurred in time to confirm that he would not be able to compete in the women’s swimming events.

Many on social media have celebrated this ruling. Transgender identifying males have been allowed to compete against females in many high school and college sports, resulting in women and girls losing opportunities. High school female athletes have been displaced by male students, resulting in many girls losing out on qualifying events and college sporting opportunities.

Many girls have also been injured by boys and men participating in women’s sports. ‘Trans’ athletes participating in women’s sports have caused concern even among many liberals. This is a very divisive issue, as prominent liberals including ‘trans’ Caitlin Jenner have spoken out about the harms of men participating in women’s athletics.

Jenner’s worldview is utterly incoherent. The premise of the idea of transitioning is that it is possible for a man to become a woman. The idea that this could happen but they should not participate in women’s sports is not explained or logical. The issue of ‘trans’ athletes in women’s sports is so divisive that even trans identifying people and leftists who fully support gender ideology refuse to accept it. This recent international rejection of males participating in women’s sports is a great step for protecting women’s safety, privacy, and opportunities, and hopefully we see more policies like it in America.
