As a student of the internationally renowned classical guitarist, Manuel Barrueco, I won a number of prizes and awards, including First Prize in the 1994 Philadelphia Classical Guitar Competition, First Prize in the Baltimore Music Competition, and the Hos Award in Guitar for Outstanding Achievement.

All seemed well. But I found increasingly that secular life was unintelligible. I was particularly perplexed on the moral nature of life; how do we know right from wrong in such a way that sustains scrutiny?

It was in the late summer of 1994 that this perplexity was resolved: Jesus Christ came into my life; I would never be the same.
